The saddest 7 minutes in Will's Wells history. Homesteads in the village are being abandoned because of a lack of water. This is at Nkosikazi Village where our drill pipes got stuck. It's almost a total loss for our pipes, we could only recover 6. The villagers who were ecstatic about their well after 15 years without their own water well were devastated overnight because a torrential rain came and destroyed their borehole the day before we cased it.
We will return and get these people water by June after the rainy season ends. The old widows are struggling to walk the miles for water, one even offered to give up all of her belongings to help pay for new pipe.
